Her real name is Michelle Calica. Her father is Ruben Calica, an architect working in Dubai. Her childhood was spent traveling wherever her father worked. Her longest stay was in Boracay, at the time Ruben was supervising many projects on the island. Her mother died when she was eight. When she was four, she was fond of collecting little shells and hermit crabs. One of the crabs never died, and just kept growing. It turns out to be a pre-cambrian sea creature. Her parents wanted to throw it away, but "Mitch" had grown too fond of her pet, Binhi. The creature saved her from a snake once and her parents never bothered her about it after that incident. Her powers started to manifest after her mother's death. The crystals she wears on her chest were from her mother. While she was young, she had started wearing one or two of the crystals, this was her mother's way of passing on her gifts to her. She has the power to control the elements, water, air and fire. But she cannot create these things, only manipulate them. It is not entirely clear, how she is able to do this. But over the years, she has discovered that she is better able to control water when there is a lot of salt present. This has influenced her choice of a college course, taking up Chemistry to better understand her gifts.
